EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY
The Board of Mwense Trades Training Institute (MwTTI) under the Ministry of Technology and Science of the Republic of Zambia, situated in Mwense in Luapula Province, is looking for suitably qualified individuals to fill the following positions.
1. LECTURER – GENERAL AGRICULTURE (01)
JOB PURPOSE
To Provide Technical Support in Agriculture and deliver theory and practical training in General Agriculture.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Prepare and deliver high standard theoretical and practical learning.
2. Maintaining a teaching file.
3. Assess students by administering assignments, tests and practicals.
4. Maintain students’ performance records.
5. Maintain order and discipline among students.
6. Participate in designing, marketing and implementation of viable programmes & projects.
7. Coordinate with other staff in ensuring institute objectives are achieved.
8. Any other duties assigned by the supervisor
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
• Diploma in General Agriculture.
• Full Grade twelve (12) or equivalent Certificate with credits or better in five subjects.
• Diploma in Teaching methodology.
• At least 2 years’ work experience in a similar role.
• TEVETA accredited trainer is desirable.
• Good facilitation and interpersonal skills.
• Good communication skills and teamwork abilities.
• Honest, hardworking, and dependable.
2. AGRICULTURE PROJECT CORDINATOR (01)
JOB PURPOSE
To support and supervise day-to-day operations of livestock management and crop production. This role is responsible for productivity, welfare, and sustainability of all farm operations.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensure care for animals i.e. feeding, access to clean water, vaccination, deworming and other tasks related to animal health.
Ensure animals are monitored and their infrastructure and the community are protected.
Ensure crop activities are run on a continuous basis.
Identify, implement and coordinate agriculture business ventures.
Ensure preparation and safe keeping accurate records/data on animals and crops.
Report issues related to animal health or field conditions promptly and ensure quick resolution.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
• Diploma in General Agriculture
• Full Grade twelve (12) or equivalent Certificate.
• Demonstrate ability to manage and run agricultural projects (farm management)
• At least 1 year’s work experience in farm management (management of livestock, crop production and animal husbandry).
• Certificate in Project management is an advantage.
• Teaching methodology an added advantage
• Good facilitation and interpersonal skills.
• Good communication skills and teamwork abilities.
• Honest, hardworking, and dependable.
3. STORES OFFICER (01)
JOB PURPOSE
To ensure adequate stock levels, storage and issuance of materials, in order to facilitate supply of materials to users.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
• Ensure timely issuance of materials.
• Maintain and update accurate inventory of materials regularly to ensure accountability.
• Timely determines stock levels and trigger procurement based on relevant stock levels.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
• Minimum Certificate in Stores Management or Purchasing and Supply
• Grade 12 Certificate or its equivalent with at least five (5) credits or better
• Two (2) years’ work experience in a similar role
• Ability to work in a team.
• Good writing skills to enable good record keeping
• Reliable, trustworthy and orderly
• Honest, hardworking, and dependable.
