The Livingstone Institute of Business and Engineering Studies (LIBES) is a Government institution under the Ministry of Technology and Science, established under Statutory Instrument No. 7 of 2003 in accordance with the Technical Education, Vocational and Entrepreneurship Training Act of 1998.
The Institute is located at Plot No. 2621, Nakatindi Road, Livingstone.
LIBES invites applications from suitably qualified, motivated, and experienced Zambian nationals to fill the following vacant position:
ACCOUNTS ASSISTANTS (02)
Reporting to: Finance Manager
Purpose of the Role
To provide operational and technical support to the Finance Department by ensuring accurate processing of financial transactions, proper record-keeping and compliance with applicable public finance regulations and institutional financial procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in processing payments, receipts, journals and bank reconciliations in a timely and accurate manner
- Maintain complete, accurate and up-to-date accounting records, vouchers and supporting financial documentation.
- Assist in budget preparation and financial reporting
- Ensure compliance with public finance regulations
- Support revenue collection processes and carry out regular reconciliations
- Assist in addressing internal and external audit queries and implementing audit recommendations
- Manage accounts payable and receivable functions
- Process salary-related payments
Qualifications and Experience
- Diploma in Accounts, Finance, or a related field
- Degree in Accountancy will be an added advantage
- Professional qualification (ACCA, ZICA or CIMA) is an added advantage.
- Minimum of two (2) years’ relevant experience
- Proficiency in accounting software (Sage Accounting System)
