Reputable and progressive farm is seeking a qualified and experienced Agronomist to join our growing agricultural operation. Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement crop production plans
- Monitor crop health, soil conditions and irrigation systems
- Recommend appropriate fertilizers, pesticides and soil treatments
- Conduct soil sampling and interpret results
- Recommend fertilizers, herbicides and pest control measures
- Identify and manage crop pests, diseases and weeds
- Maintain accurate farm records and production reports
- Improve yield and sustainability
- Co-ordinating, managing and planning all operational equipment needed for the same.
- Expansion and development of new projects.
- Manage and supervise farm workers and contractors.
Experience/Qualifications:
- Agronomy qualification or similar agricultural qualification by a reputable and recognised agricultural institution, knowledge and experience is preferable
- Minimum 10 yrs in the farming industry
- Strong knowledge of soil management and crop protection
- Ability to analyse data and make practical recommendations
- Ability to work unsupervised, alone and collaboratively as a team
- Valid driver’s license
- Preferably Zambian citizen or resident
