The Chitambo Development Foundation (CHDF) is a registered non-profit, non-political, and non-religious organization committed to grassroots sustainable development in the Chitambo District of Zambia’s Central Province. CHDF believes that community-led solutions empower local people to address social, economic, and environmental challenges, with particular focus on women, youth, and other marginalized groups. Through inclusive, participatory programs, CHDF supports agriculture, education, livelihoods, environmental conservation, and natural resource management. CHDF promotes youth-led, community-centered approaches to development.
We are seeking three dynamic young leaders to join our team in roles that are contingent upon the successful securing of project funding. Graduates currently residing in Chitambo District are especially encouraged to apply.
1. Project Coordinator (Team Lead)
- Role: Oversee program implementation, coordinate youth teams, and liaise with CHDF leadership and field partners.
- Responsibilities: Manage timelines, integrate climate-smart agriculture, and lead innovation across community initiatives.
- Requirements: 3+ years of project management or community leadership experience; Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Development Studies, or related field.
2. Seed Bank Coordinator
- Role: Manage the establishment and operations of community seed banks.
- Responsibilities: Support youth committees, organize seed collection/distribution, and ensure quality standards.
- Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Plant Science, Agronomy, or related agricultural field.
3. Post-Harvest Training Lead
- Role: Lead the rollout of low-cost, pesticide-free grain storage solutions.
- Responsibilities: Supervise training of young artisans, coordinate demonstrations, and reduce post-harvest losses.
- Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Engineering, Extension Education, or related field.
