About us
Fresh Stop Lounge is a busy cocktail lounge offering craft cocktails and a food menu of shareable plates, small plates, and elevated bar food. We seek a reliable, creative Chef to run food prep and service in a fast-paced lounge environment. Applicants must live in or very near Makeni.
Position
Full-time Chef
Key responsibilities
- Prepare, cook, and plate high-quality small plates, snacks, and shareable dishes consistent with a cocktail-lounge menu
- Develop rotating specials and seasonal small-plate offerings that pair well with cocktails
- Coordinate closely with bar staff on timing and service flow during busy shifts and late hours
- Maintain food safety, sanitation, and proper storage procedures
- Oversee kitchen organization, portion control, recipe consistency, and waste reduction
- Monitor inventory, assist with ordering, and control food costs
- Work evenings and weekends as required by lounge hours
Qualifications
- Proven commercial kitchen experience (2+ years preferred), ideally in a bar, lounge, tapas, or small-plates environment
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
- Strong knife skills, speed, and ability to execute multiple small-batch dishes consistently
- Creativity, attention to detail, and ability to design dishes that pair with cocktails
- Leadership, teamwork, and reliable timekeeping
- Must live in or within immediate vicinity of Makeni (no exceptions)
