We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Tobacco Agronomist with proven expertise in managing the entire tobacco crop production cycle—from land preparation to post-harvest handling.
The ideal candidate will play a key role in driving high-yield, quality tobacco production through modern agronomic practices, farmer engagement, and data-driven decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee full tobacco crop cycle: nursery establishment, transplanting, field management, harvesting, curing, and grading
- Provide technical guidance on soil fertility, irrigation, pest and disease control
- Develop and implement crop management plans to maximize yield and quality
- Train and support field teams and outgrower farmers
- Monitor crop performance and provide timely interventions
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and best agricultural practices
- Prepare regular field reports and production forecasts
Requirements:
- Degree or Diploma in Agronomy, Agriculture, or related field
- Proven experience in tobacco production (end-to-end cycle)
- Strong knowledge of irrigation systems, soil health, and crop protection
- Experience working with commercial farms or outgrower schemes
- Ability to work independently in a remote setup
- Strong communication and field coordination skills
