Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Production and Operational Management: Oversee daily routines, including feeding, watering, and monitoring environmental conditions (temperature, humidity, ventilation) for optimal bird health. Manage brooding, growing, and laying cycles to ensure high productivity.
- Health and Welfare: Implement biosecurity measures to prevent disease outbreaks. Conduct regular checks to detect diseases, injuries, or signs of stress. Coordinate vaccination schedules and treatments with veterinarians.
- Staff Supervision and Training: Manage, schedule, and train farm workers, ensuring they follow proper poultry care and safety protocols. Assign daily tasks and ensure adherence to company standards.
- Record Keeping and Data Analysis: Maintain detailed records of production rates (mortality, weight gain), feed usage, and employee performance. Use this data to track progress against company goals.
- Resource Management: Manage feed inventory and other supplies, minimizing waste to maintain cost-efficiency.
- Logistics: Coordinate with sales team
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Experience: Generally requires 3+ years in poultry farming or a related agricultural field.
- Leadership: Strong team management and communication skills to lead staff.
- Technical Knowledge: Understanding of poultry nutrition, disease prevention, and environmental control.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to work for long hours and handle physically demanding work.
Qualification
Certificate in Poultry Management or Related Course
Minimum of 2 years' experience in Poultry Management
