EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY
United Gypsum Investments Limited is inviting applications from suitably qualified and experienced Zambian candidates to fill the following positions at our MONZE MINE Site:
1. DOZER OPERATOR (1 POSITION)
Contract Type: One-Year Fixed Term Contract
Reporting To: Mine Manager / Supervisor
Job Purpose
The Dozer Operator will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of dozer equipment to support mining production activities, haul road maintenance, and general site operations while maintaining strict adherence to safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate the dozer safely and efficiently in line with mine operational requirements.
- Conduct pre-start inspections before each shift.
- Keep the equipment clean internally and externally.
- Carry out clean-up works in haul roads, dump areas, and production zones.
- Support haul road construction and maintenance activities.
- Maintain required site safety standards, including road surfaces and windrow heights.
- Report equipment defects promptly to maintenance and dispatch teams.
- Perform any other production-related duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
- Minimum 2 years’ experience operating a dozer in an open-pit mining environment.
- Valid certification in heavy equipment or bulldozer operation.
- Experience in bush clearing and civil works will be an added advantage.
- Ability to operate Caterpillar, Liebherr, Shantui, or similar equipment.
- Strong understanding of mine safety procedures.
2. HEALTH AND SAFETY OFFICER (1 POSITION)
Contract Type: Fixed Term Contract
Reporting To: Mine Manager
Job Purpose
The Health and Safety Officer will be responsible for implementing and continuously improving health and safety systems across mining operations and the gypsum processing plant to ensure compliance and support the company’s zero-harm objective.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement site-specific HSE policies and procedures.
- Conduct routine inspections and risk assessments across the mine site.
- Investigate incidents, accidents, and near-misses.
- Conduct safety inductions and training for staff and contractors.
- Monitor PPE usage and safe work practices.
- Coordinate emergency drills and safety audits.
- Prepare monthly safety performance reports.
- Promote a strong workplace safety culture.
Minimum Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or related field.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in the mining or construction industry.
- Valid ZOHSA Practicing Licence.
- Valid Silicosis Certificate.
- Strong knowledge of Zambian mining safety legislation.
- Strong investigation and report writing skills.
