Job Purpose
Carry out direct sales, offer technical support to customers in form of training, and guidance for correct product application, invariably, direct selling involves promotion and administration of all sales activities to customers in a sales area, which includes Commercial business in civil engineering and construction, transport, and reseller market segment in the most economical efficient and profitable way.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
a. Sales and Marketing
- Solicit for new business from the market
- Check on orders received, invoices issued and goods supplied for each day.
- Raise invoices for all confirmed orders and outstanding from previous day for Business Manager’s approval.
- Request for goods raising necessary requisition for Business Manager’s approval.
- Conduct market campaigns among new and existing customers, promoting the lubricant products sold by the Company using various tools and strategies including educational campaign, presentations and demonstrations.
- Visit regularly existing and new customers to establish performance of products supplied by the Company and inform the customers on prices of products, new products and any changes.
b. Ensure Quality Products are Sold
- In liaison with the Business Manager, act on any product waiver or correction as required.
- Monitor quality of product in the depots.
- In liaison with Business Manager act on non-conforming products.
- Advise dealers and distributors on policies and operating procedures to ensure functional effectiveness of business.
c. Training
- Conduct training of customers regarding products
- Conduct training for dealers and forecourt staff in product knowledge.
d. Maintain Effective Credit Control
- Solicit for business in the market and encourage cash trading terms.
- Ensure trading terms are explicit to customer and are adhered to
- Ensure timely collection of all outstanding company trade debts
- Update listing of defaulting customers regularly.
e. Other Duties as may be Assigned/Delegated
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
- Full Grade 12 Certificate
- Bachelor’s degree in Sales Management, Business Administration, Marketing or a related field from a duly accredited higher learning institution; a Master’s degree is a plus.
- Minimum 3 years' proven experience in sales or a related role, with knowledge of sales and marketing processes.
- Valid Driver's License (Both manual and automatic).
- Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in CRM software, MS Office, and other sales tools.
- Self-motivated, results-driven, and able to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Ability to deliver compelling presentations and product demonstrations.
