Role Overview
This role is responsible for leading the maintenance function and ensuring the efficient operation, maintenance, and presentation of all lodge facilities, plant, utilities, and boats while upholding the standards of a luxury hospitality environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead daily maintenance activities and ensure timely completion of tasks.
• Develop, implement, and monitor preventive maintenance programs.
• Prepare and submit weekly and monthly maintenance reports and asset updates.
• Diagnose faults and oversee repairs on mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and building systems.
• Oversee the operation and maintenance of generators, power equipment, and essential utilities.
• Ensure proper functioning of plumbing, HVAC, refrigeration, water systems, and general building services.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and inventory of tools, materials, and critical spare parts.
• Enforce health, safety, fire, and environmental standards across the property.
• Supervise, train, schedule, and guide maintenance staff and contractors.
• Coordinate with external contractors and service providers when required.
• Respond promptly to maintenance emergencies, breakdowns, and urgent guest-facing issues.
Requirements
• Diploma, degree, or trade qualification in Electrical, Mechanical, HVAC, Plumbing, Building Services, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 to 8 years of maintenance experience in a lodge, hotel, resort, or similar environment.
• Previous supervisory or management experience is required.
• Strong knowledge of generators, power systems, plumbing, HVAC, refrigeration, boats, and general building maintenance.
• Good troubleshooting, leadership, planning, budgeting, and recordkeeping skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and respond effectively to emergencies.
