Grace Centre is currently looking for a qualified person to urgently fill the position of the Supervisor at its Lodge which is one of its income generating projects.
Organizational Profile
PURPOSE OF ESTABLISHMENT
Grace Centre is a community-based project located in Kazungula District along Mambova road.
The Centre is TEVETA Accredited institution offering free skills training programs and also supports vulnerable girls with education sponsorship in primary and secondary schools. It also has income generating projects such as Tailoring, Business Centre, Poultry, Lodge, Conference facility and the restaurant which helps to finance the school.
Qualifications and Experience
The ideal candidate must have:
- A Diploma or equivalent qualification in Hospitality, Hospitality Management or any other relevant field.
- A minimum of two years’ experience in a related field.
- Good command of English, both written and spoken.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Good customer care and supervisory skills.
- Ability to maintain accurate records and handle sales accountability.
Key Responsibilities
The Lodge Supervisor will be responsible for:
- Taking care of buildings, machinery, equipment, fittings, furniture, beddings, mattresses and all consumable stock.
- Maintaining the accommodation facilities, bar, restaurant, kitchen, toilets, showers and surrounding areas in a clean and tidy condition that attracts clients.
- Accounting for all sales and handing over funds to the Coordinator.
- Maintaining accurate documentation, both in hard copy and soft copy, for all Grace Centre Lodge transactions.
- Promoting sales to ensure that income generated helps meet operational expenses.
- Reporting daily to the Founder on lodge activities and income generated.
- Overseeing the security of the property, ensuring that gates are closed at 21:00 hours and that the security guard performs his/her duties effectively.
- Briefing staff daily on their duties and ensuring that assigned work is carried out effectively.
- Liaising with the Grace Centre kitchen on food orders, including continental breakfast for lodge guests, in a timely manner.
- Immediately reporting any accident, theft, security incident, misconduct, loss of property or any matter that may negatively affect the operations or reputation of the lodge.
- Providing courteous, professional and customer-friendly service to all guests and visitors.
- Ensuring that customer complaints are attended to promptly and appropriately.
