Role Purpose
The Interior Designer is the creative and client-facing lead for Deyne Interiors. This role is responsible for delivering exceptional design concepts, managing client relationships throughout the project lifecycle, and ensuring that every design is both beautiful and buildable. The Interior Designer shapes the client experience and the company's design reputation. Supervises / Manages Design Assistant, Project Coordinator
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Client Consultations & Briefing
- Conduct initial client consultations — residential, corporate, and hospitality.
- Define and document the client brief, budget, and project scope • Ask the right questions to understand client lifestyle, preferences, and functional needs
- Establish realistic client expectations on timeline and budget from the outset Design Concept Development
- Develop original design concepts aligned to the client brief
- Create mood boards, material selections, and colour palettes
- Prepare design presentations for client approval
- Incorporate client feedback professionally while defending the design integrity Stay current on design trends, materials, and suppliers Project Coordination
- Coordinate with the Project Coordinator and Interior Architect to execute the approved design
- Manage contractor briefings and material procurement coordination • Monitor project progress and flag deviations from the design specification
- Conduct site visits to ensure design is being executed correctly Client Relationship Management
- Maintain regular communication with clients throughout the project
- Manage client expectations on changes, delays, and budget adjustments
- Conduct a final handover walkthrough with the client
- Follow up post-completion to ensure satisfaction and generate referrals
KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS (KPIs)
- Client satisfaction score on completed projects — target 90% or above
- Projects delivered on time and within approved scope
- Number of design concepts approved on first or second presentation
- Repeat clients and referrals generated
- Design quality — no post-handover complaints relating to design specification
- Client proposal acceptance rate
Role Requirements
Minimum Qualifications & Education
- Diploma or Degree in Interior Design or equivalent design qualification
- Portfolio of completed interior design projects required
Experience Required
- minimum 3 years in a professional interior design role
- Demonstrated experience in residential and / or commercial projects
- Experience managing projects from concept to completion
- Proficient in at least one design software platform (SketchUp, AutoCAD, 3ds Max, or similar)
Skills & Competencies
- Strong creative and spatial design ability
- Excellent client communication and presentation skills
- Proficient in preparing mood boards, material schedules, and design proposals
- Knowledge of finishes, fabrics, furniture, lighting, and FF&E
- Project management skills — timelines, budgets, contractor coordination

Working Conditions & Special Requirements
