Advanced Life Support (ALS) Paramedic
Location: Lusaka, Zambia

Reports To: Operations Manager (Operational) and Chief Medical Officer (Clinical)

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Advanced Life Support (ALS) Paramedic to join our Operations Team. The successful candidate will provide advanced pre-hospital emergency care while ensuring operational readiness of ambulances, medical equipment, and emergency medical supplies.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide Advanced Life Support (ALS) emergency medical care and patient stabilisation.
- Respond to emergency calls, medical evacuations, and inter-facility transfers by road and air ambulance.
- Assess, treat, monitor, and safely transport critically ill and injured patients.
- Maintain operational readiness of ambulances, medical equipment, drugs, and consumables.
- Complete accurate patient care records and operational documentation.
- Ensure compliance with SES Clinical Practice Guidelines, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and HPCZ professional standards.
- Participate in on-call duties, medical standbys, and deployments to remote, industrial, and mine sites as required.
- Support fleet inspections, equipment maintenance, and quality assurance activities.
Minimum Requirements
Education & Professional Qualifications
Essential
- Diploma or Degree in Advanced Life Support (ALS) Paramedicine or equivalent recognized qualification.
- Current HPCZ Practicing License.
Preferred
- ACLS Certification
- PALS Certification
- ITLS/PHTLS Certification
- BLS Certification
- Aviation Medicine or Aviation Healthcare Provider Training
Experience
Essential
- Minimum of 3 years' post-qualification experience as an Advanced Life Support Paramedic.
- Experience in emergency ambulance services and pre-hospital emergency care.
Added Advantage
- Experience in air ambulance operations.
- Experience in mining, industrial, occupational health, or remote site medical services.
- Experience in critical care transport and medical evacuation.
