Yalelo Zambia Ltd. is seeking experienced, proactive, and results-driven Fish Processors to join Zambia’s No. 1 aquaculture team at our Siavonga production site.
We also have three (03) new Superintendent positions currently available.
- Freezing Superintendent
The Freezing Superintendent is responsible for overseeing all freezing operations to ensure products are frozen efficiently, safely, and in line with quality and food safety standards. The role focuses on maximizing blast freezer uptime, maintaining temperature and product integrity, and coordinating with the Quality and Cold Chain Maintenance teams.
Qualifications, Experience & Knowledge Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Production Management, Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 3 years’ experience in production, processing, or cold chain operations within the food or FMCG sector.
- Proven track record of managing blast freezing operations or large-scale cold storage facilities.
- Demonstrated success in managing teams in a fast-paced production environment.
- Experience in implementing performance management, efficiency improvements, and compliance initiatives
- Additional training or certification in cold chain management, HACCP, or ISO standards is an advantage.
- Strong knowledge of productivity, efficiency and hygiene standards.
- Strong knowledge of freezing and cold chain processes.
- Knowledge of enforcement of HSE regulations and promoting safe work practices

2. Receiving, Packing & Dispatch Superintendent
The Receiving, Packing and Dispatch Superintendent is responsible for coordinating and supervising the dispatching and receiving of fish from harbour, packing and timely dispatch to commercial while ensuring careful handling of tools and harvest requirements. He/She is responsible for ensuring smooth operation in line with the production schedules, quality standards, and regulatory standards.
Qualifications, Experience & Knowledge Requirements
- Degree in Supply Chain Management, Production Management, Food Science, Warehousing, or related field.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in fish or food processing, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role
- Knowledge of HACCP, ISO standards, cold chain management, and food safety regulations.
- Experience managing teams in a high-volume production or logistics environment.

3.Further Processing Superintendent
The Further Processing superintendent is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all activities involved in the further processing of different fish products beyond the primary processing, including filleting, gutting & scaling, etc. He/she is responsible for achieving the targets required for the markets while maintaining high quality and hygiene standards.
Qualifications, Experience & Knowledge Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Technology of production and processing, Aquaculture, Fisheries Technology, Production Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a meat or fish processing environment, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Demonstrated ability to manage production teams in a fast-paced, high-volume processing environment.
- Strong knowledge of HACCP, ISO, and food safety management systems.
- Demonstrates knowledge of productivity, efficiency and hygiene standards
