1. INTERNAL AUDITOR - ASSURANCE
Job Purpose:
To carry out internal audit engagements that involve an evaluation of the adequacy and effectiveness of risk management, control and governance processes in the Company.
Statements of Main Accountabilities.
· Leads audit team members in evaluating the reliability, efficiency and effectiveness of risk management by ensuring that the Company methodically addresses the risks attached to activities with the goal of achieving sustained benefit within each activity and across the portfolio of activities
· Leads audit team members in evaluating the soundness, adequacy, effectiveness, efficiency and application of Governance procedures implemented in the Company and make appropriate recommendations.
· Leads audit team members in evaluating controls embedded in processes designed to; prevent loss of the Company’s resources, perpetration of fraudulent activities, achievement of operational goals and objectives.
· Leads audit team members in ascertaining whether procedures in use comply with statutory regulations, the Company’s policies and procedures and other related regulatory frameworks such as accounting standards and make recommendations appropriately.
· Reviews and appraises the soundness, adequacy, effectiveness, efficiency and application of accounting, financial, and other operating controls, as well as promote effective control at reasonable cost.
· Recommends different methods that could help to enhance and improve control procedures and work with the management to resolve issues that may have been identified through audit findings.
· Makes timely follow ups on audit reports issued out and assesses the status of implementation of committed management action plans. Prepares timely follow up reports on behalf of the Manager Internal Audit.
· Undertakes special audit assignments, investigations, consultancy and other value adding activities as assigned by the Manager Internal Audit.
Knowledge and Skill Requirements
· Grade 12 Certificate with Five (5) O Levels
· Bachelor’s Degree with a bias in Auditing, Accountancy, Commerce, Finance, Business Administration, Economics or Relevant professional qualification such as Certified Accountant (CA), (Certified Internal Auditor) CIA, Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), ACCA or CIMA
· 2 years’ post qualification experience in a comparable organisation
· Member of the relevant professional regulatory body.
2. SECURITY OFFICER
Job Purpose:
Reporting to the Chief Security Officer the job holder will maintain safety and supervise a team of hired security guards, guarding company property to prevent thefts and/or vandalism
Summary of Main Accountabilities
· Conducts security Patrols and security spot checks to detect any risk and vulnerability of company premises
· Supervises guards of hired security company and ensures parades are conducted, deployments are done according to the deployment levels and reports any deviations
· Prepares and submits security incident reports to the Chief Security Officer.
· Makes follow ups on all reported cases of illegal Water connection, meter by-passes and illegal reconnections
· Implements security policies and procedures to safeguard people and property.
· Regularly assesses potential security threats and conducts audits to ensure the effectiveness of existing security measures.
· Assists in developing and implementing emergency plans, and participates in drills to ensure readiness.
· Develops and deliver security training programs for employees to ensure they are aware of and comply with security protocols.
· Ensures that all security practices comply with regulations, as well as organizational policies.
Knowledge and Skill Requirements
· Grade 12 Certificate with Five (5) O Levels
· Certificate in Police/Military and Investigations training
· Diploma will be an added advantage
· 3 years’ experience in a similar role in a comparable organization
· Valid Driver’s License (Ability to Drive Manual Vehicle)
3. AUTOMOTIVE MECHANIC
Purpose of the Job
Responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining mechanical and electrical systems of company vehicles and ensuring they are roadworthy and meet operational requirements.
Main accountabilities
· Diagnose and repair mechanical faults in engines, brakes, suspension, and transmission systems
· Inspects, maintains, and repairs vehicle electrical systems including batteries, alternators, lighting, wiring, starter motors, and ignition systems
· Carries out preventive maintenance, including servicing and part replacements
· Keeps detailed maintenance records and updates service logs for each vehicle
· Uses diagnostic equipment and tools to identify faults and recommend corrective action
· Ensures repairs are carried out to required standards and in compliance with safety procedures
· Advises Transport Officer on parts procurement and spare usage
· Respond to roadside breakdowns and provides emergency support
· Assist in fitting and testing new electrical or mechanical parts and systems
· Ensure a clean and safe working environment in the workshop
Knowledge and Skill Requirements:
- Grade 12 Certificate with Five (5) O Levels
- Craft Certificate in Automotive Mechanics or Electrical
- 2 years minimum qualification in Automotive Mechanics/Electrical repairs and maintenance
4. DRIVER
Purpose of the Job
To drive a motor vehicle to transport Company staff and equipment as directed.
Main accountabilities
· Carries out pre-shift checks on motor vehicles for oil, water, tire pressure and any visible defects, reports noted faults timely to affect repairs.
· Ensures that spare wheel, jack, triangles, first Aid box, wheel spanner or any other accessories are in the vehicle prior to depart and on arrival.
· Drives a motor vehicle to transport staff and equipment to assigned destinations and undertakes errands on behalf of the corporation.
· Delivers mails documents timely as directed by superior and ensures that all the assignments are met.
· Ensure that the assigned vehicle is clean and tidy by washing it and ensure that same is in good working condition.
· Undertakes minor repairs and maintenance in faults detected on the vehicle and reports major ones to superior.
· Reports any accident involving a Company vehicle, immediately reports to the police and makes a sketch of the position of the vehicle, takes the particulars of the other vehicle and Driver, and at the earliest opportunity reports to the supervisor
· Ensures that the motor vehicle is adequately insured and is road worthy to avoid contravening traffic rules\regulation and road.
· Maintains a logbook for the motor vehicle detailing mileage covered before and after the trip
· Cleans assigned vehicles and ensures that the motor vehicle is always kept clean at all times
Knowledge and Skill Requirements:
- Grade 12 Certificate with Five (5) O Levels
- Minimum of Class C Driving license
- 2 Years minimum work experience in a comparable organisation
5. HELPER
Purpose of the Job
To perform a variety of simple repetitive tasks as directed by the artisan/supervisor in charge that may involve, lifting, pushing, weighing, loading, digging, cleaning, cutting, greasing, turning, tightening or loosening bolts using physical effort or simple equipment, tools or machinery in order to assist the artisan accomplish the assigned task.
Main accountabilities
· Lifts, loads, unloads tools and equipment as directed
· Loosens, tightens bolts, screws or straps as directed in order to secure parts, equipment, machinery or goods
· Digs and backfills after artisan has repaired defects or accomplished work
· Cleans, washes floors, work areas, slashes grass as directed to clean or clear designated area
· Records simple data and information as directed by the artisan
· Undertakes any simple task assigned by the artisan
Knowledge and Skill Requirements:
- Grade 12 Certificate with Five (5) O Levels
- Experience in Automotive repairs and maintenance will be an added advantage
