Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Restaurant General Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our restaurant. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of Zambia’s restaurant landscape, hands-on experience with the Pilot system, and the ability to drive growth through innovative marketing and excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Operations Management
- Oversee all daily restaurant operations, ensuring smooth service and adherence to company standards.
- Monitor inventory, ordering, and supplier relations to maintain consistent stock levels and control costs.
- Utilize the Pilot system to manage sales, stock, and staff performance reports.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and health regulations as required by Zambian authorities.
- Customer Service Excellence
- Lead by example to maintain exceptional service standards.
- Handle customer feedback and complaints professionally, ensuring swift and satisfactory resolution.
- Foster a welcoming atmosphere that enhances guest experience and encourages repeat business.
- Team Leadership & Staff Management
- Recruit, train, and mentor staff to uphold service excellence and operational efficiency.
- Create schedules, monitor performance, and enforce discipline when necessary.
- Promote teamwork, motivation, and a strong work ethic within the team.
- Financial Oversight
- Track and analyze financial performance using the Pilot POS system and other management tools.
- Prepare weekly and monthly reports on sales, costs, and profitability.
- Implement cost-control measures and optimize resource allocation.
- Marketing & Business Growth
- Develop and execute creative marketing strategies tailored to Zambia’s dining culture and market trends.
- Collaborate with social media and design teams to boost the restaurant’s online presence and engagement.
- Identify partnership and event opportunities (e.g., brunches, themed nights etc).
- Conduct competitor analysis and suggest menu or pricing adjustments to stay competitive.
Qualifications & Experience
- Diploma or Degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or related field.
- Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in restaurant or hospitality management, preferably in Zambia.
- Proficiency with the Pilot POS system and other restaurant management tools.
- Strong understanding of local restaurant trends, customer preferences, and dining culture.
- Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Proven ability to create and implement marketing strategies that drive growth.
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail.
