Job Purpose:
The Accountant will be responsible for managing financial records, preparing accurate reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and company policies. The role demands precision, confidentiality, and a proactive approach to financial management in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate financial records and ledgers.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
- Handle accounts payable and receivable, reconciliations, and payroll processing.
- Monitor budgets, cash flow, and expenditure to support effective financial planning.
- Ensure compliance with Zambian tax laws, statutory returns, and regulatory requirements.
- Support audits and liaise with external auditors and financial institutions.
- Provide timely financial insights to management to inform decision-making.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Minimum of a Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Degree preferred).
- Membership with ZICA (at least Technician or Licentiate level) will be an added advantage.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Sage, QuickBooks, or similar).
- Strong analytical, numerical, and organizational skills.
- High level of integrity, confidentiality, and attention to detail.
- Experience in the hospitality, restaurant, or food service industry will be an added advantage.
