VACANCY
The Group is inviting applications from suitably qualified, innovative, and dynamic individuals to take up the following positions within its Legal and Commercial Department who shall report to the Head Legal and Commercial Executive:
1) Legal Officer – Risk and Compliance
2) Legal Officer – General
3) Assistant Legal Officer
4) Assistant Accountant
JOB PURPOSE
To provide comprehensive legal support to management and ensure that the Group’s legal, commercial, and corporate interests are safeguarded at all times in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
LEGAL OFFICER – RISK & COMPLIANCE
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1) Advise on the risk management of commercial transactions and participate in negotiating such transactions to ensure realisation of maximum benefits.
2) Provide day to day legal advice to the Company to ensure that the Company is safe-guarded against legal risks and liabilities.
3) Monitor legislation relevant to the Groups operations to remain current with developments in the law and provide such general interpretation of the law as may be relevant to the company.
4) Maintain the Group’s legal and compliance registers, including contract management and document filing systems.
5) Ensure that the Group is compliant with corporate governance requirements, statutory filings, and internal legal policies.
6) Any other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.
LEGAL OFFICER – Commercial
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1) Draft and review commercial contracts, and scrutinise all legal documents including in-house and third-party contracts.
2) Prepare court process documents and attend to litigation and provide effective and efficient representation in legal actions before the Courts, at tribunals and other judicial bodies.
3) Provide legal advice to the company’s and its subsidiaries.
4) Conduct legal research on matters as may arise in the day to day operations of the Company in the most effective and efficient manner.
5) Any other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.
ASSISTANT LEGAL OFFICER
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1) Assist in drafting, reviewing, and organizing legal documents, contracts, and correspondence under the supervision of senior legal officers.
2) Support in conducting legal research and preparing briefs, memoranda, and opinions on various matters affecting the Group’s operations.
3) Assist in maintaining the Group’s legal and compliance registers, including contract management and document filing systems.
4) Provide administrative and procedural support in litigation matters, including filing, service of process, and coordination with external counsel.
5) Assist in the monitoring and summarizing of updates in legislation, regulations, and policies relevant to the Group’s business activities.
6) Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
· Bachelor of Laws (LLB) Degree.
· Advocate of the High Court for Zambia with current practicing certificate from the Law Association of Zambia (Not applicable to the assistance Legal Officer).
· Less than 3 years post bar qualification experience, with particular expertise and / or interests in Corporate and Commercial Law.
· Excellent organizational skills / administrative capacity and the ability to work with minimal oversight.
· Team player, committed, motivated and pays attention to detail, shows resourcefulness under pressure.
· The successful applicant will be required to take up the appointment immediately.
ASSISTANT ACCOUNTANT
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1) Financial Record-Keeping: Accurately recording financial transactions, including invoices, payments, and journal entries
2) Accounts Payable/Receivable: Managing supplier invoices, processing payments, and overseeing customer receipts
3) Reconciliation: Performing regular bank and account reconciliations to ensure accuracy
4) General Ledger Maintenance: Maintaining accurate and complete general ledger accounts
5) Audit Support: Facilitating external audits by providing necessary documentation and support
6) Process Improvement: Proposing enhancements to financial processes for greater efficiency and accuracy
7) Prepare and submit monthly regulatory returns (NAPSA, NHIMA, PAYE etc)

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
· Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Level II ACCA, CIMA, or ZICA)
· Experience: 2-3 years of experience in a similar role
· Software: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Sage, Pastel) and MS Office
· Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations
· Attention to Detail: Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
· Membership: Mandatory membership with the Zambia Institute of Chartered Accountants (ZICA)
