Position Summary
The Loan Consultant will be responsible for marketing salary-based loan products, assessing and processing loan applications, disbursing loans, and ensuring timely recovery through payroll deductions and follow-ups, in line with company policies and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Market and promote salary-backed loan products to eligible retail customers
- Identify and onboard new salaried clients
- Receive, verify, and process loan applications
- Confirm employment details, salary slips, and employer information
- Conduct affordability and basic credit assessments
- Prepare and manage accurate loan documentation
- Clearly explain loan terms, repayment schedules, and conditions to clients
- Facilitate loan disbursement after approval
- Monitor loan repayments and follow up on missed or delayed payments
- Liaise with employers and clients regarding payroll deductions where applicable
- Maintain accurate client records and performance reports
- Ensure compliance with company policies and ethical lending practices
- Provide excellent customer service at all times
Minimum Qualifications & Requirements
- Diploma or Certificate in Business Administration, Banking, Finance, Economics, or a related field
- Experience in microfinance, salary-based lending, banking, or sales is an added advantage
- Strong communication, negotiation, and customer service skills
- Ability to meet targets and work under minimal supervision
- High level of integrity and confidentiality
- Basic computer literacy (MS Word, Excel)
- Willingness to conduct fieldwork within Solwezi
