Our client, a leader in agricultural equipment, invite applications from suitably qualified candidates for a highly skilled and proactive Workshop Manager to lead and oversee all workshop operations. The ideal candidate will ensure that the fleet is maintained to the highest standards, coordinate repair schedules, supervise workshop staff, and maintain strong operational discipline.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily workshop operations and ensure work is carried out efficiently and safely.
- Manage servicing, diagnostics, and repair of company vehicles and equipment.
- Ensure all maintenance and repair jobs meet required quality standards.
- Enforce Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) standards
- Allocate tasks and supervise mechanics, artisans, and workshop support staff.
- Maintain accurate job cards, service records, and maintenance reports.
- Monitor spare parts usage and maintain proper inventory control.
- Enforce workshop safety standards and compliance with company procedures.
- Prepare periodic reports on fleet condition, maintenance schedules, and workshop performance.
- Coordinate with operations teams to minimise downtime and ensure fleet availability.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimise workshop productivity and cost efficiency.
Qualifications & Experience
- Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum 6 –10 years’ experience in a workshop supervisory or management role.
- Hands-on experience working with John Deere equipment
- Strong background in big tractor fault‑finding, including hydraulics, transmission, electrical and computer‑based diagnostic systems
- Experience with Remote Engine Monitoring (REM) / telematics systems used on machinery
- Ability to diagnose complex mechanical and electronic issues on large agricultural tractors and implements
- Proven track record managing breakdowns, preventive maintenance and equipment performance optimisation
- Strong knowledge of heavy-duty vehicles, diagnostics, servicing, and repairs.
- Experience in managing workshop staff and assigning workloads.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
