Project Background
The Women Economic Empowerment (WEE) project with Choma District Women’s Development Associations is running from February 2021 to 31st July 2026. The overall objective of the project is to advance women’s economic empowerment to ensure the capacity of women to participate in, contribute to and benefit from agricultural value chains and processes in ways that affirm the value of their contributions, respect their dignity, promote equality in Eastern, Western, Southern and Central Provinces.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Project Planning & Coordination
- Provide overall leadership and coordination of project planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation activities
- Develop detailed annual and quarterly work plans in line with project objectives and donor agreements
- Ensure timely implementation of project activities in accordance with approved work plans and budgets
- Identify implementation risks and propose corrective actions
- write proposals and source funding
Monitoring, Evaluation & Reporting
- Oversee the collection, consolidation, and analysis of monitoring data from field activities
- Consolidate quarterly monitoring charts and ensure data quality and accuracy
- Collect, document, and validate project success stories and lessons learned.
- Analyze logframe indicators and contribute to evidence-based reporting
- Prepare and submit monthly, quarterly, and donor narrative reports
- Present project performance reports to the Board and key stakeholders
Staff Supervision & Capacity Building
- Supervise project staff and provide technical guidance and mentorship
- Coordinate staff performance planning, monitoring, and reporting
- Identify capacity gaps and organize trainings, workshops, and review meetings
Stakeholder Engagement & Representation
- Liaise with government ministries, local authorities, donors, and implementing partners
- Represent the project in district and provincial stakeholder meetings
- Strengthen partnerships and alliances to support project sustainability
Community Mobilization & Gender Integration
- Support community groups and women beneficiaries to actively participate in project activities
- Ensure gender integration and gender-transformative approaches are embedded in all activities
- Promote women’s leadership, inclusion, and participation in agricultural value chains
Administration & Compliance
- Ensure proper documentation, filing, and archiving of all project records
- Ensure compliance with donor, organizational, and statutory requirements
- Promote and uphold the vision, mission, and values of CDWA
- Perform any other duties assigned by the Board or funding partners
Qualifications & Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Gender Studies, Development Studies, Agriculture Economics, Social Work, or related field
- Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in project or programme coordination
- Strong skills in gender training, gender analysis, and gender-transformative approaches
- Experience in agricultural value chains and women’s economic empowerment
- Fluent in English and Tonga (Required to interact with people in the region)
- Able to ride a motorbike and possess a valid licence
- Excellent communication, leadership, and report-writing skills
- Computer literate (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Willing to work in rural communities and adapt to cultural settings
