1. Background
The Malawi FCDO Remediation Pilot, implemented in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, TaRL Africa, VVOB, IPA, and other partners, aims to improve foundational literacy and numeracy (FLN) outcomes through targeted remediation using the Teaching at the Right Level (TaRL) methodology. The pilot involves intensive material development, assessment tool creation, stakeholder mapping, training of Master trainers, mentors and teachers, monitoring implementation in the pilot schools and school-level data collection and analysis.
To support these activities, stationery is required for use by teachers for tasks including:
- The creation of teaching and learning materials
- Sticking these TLMs to classroom walls
Objective
To procure and deliver stationery to support teachers to create TLMs for the Malawi FCDO Remediation Pilot, ensuring effective implementation at classroom level.
Scope of Work
The selected contractor will be responsible for the following:
Supply and Delivery;
- Flipcharts
- flipchart pens
- sticky tack
- masking tape
Delivery Requirements
- Delivery Location: Chipata/Mchinji border
- Delivery Timeline: Within 15 calendar days from contract signing
- Packaging: Secure, tamper-proof packaging with clear labeling
Ideal Profile & Evaluation Criteria
- Must be a Zambian-registered company with valid business and tax documentation.
- Minimum 3 years of proven experience in stationery supply and transportation
- Qualified and certified dealer (must attach relevant certifications)
- Capacity to deliver within agreed timelines
- Budget Estimate or Cost Breakdown
The proposal should include a detailed, VAT-inclusive breakdown covering:
- 1,820 flipchart rolls - (20 sheets per roll/pad)
- 910 packets of flipchart pens - (12pcs per packet)
- 1,820 packets of sticky tack - (Bostick or other brand)
- 35 rolls of masking tape - (medium width)
- Transport of above materials to the Chipata/Mchinji border
