Job Summary
The Civil Site Engineer will be responsible for overseeing all on-site civil engineering activities related to telecommunications tower construction and solar power plant projects. This includes site preparation, foundation work, structural erection, quality control, safety compliance, and coordination with subcontractors and stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil engineering with field experience in tower and/or solar plant construction.
Key Responsibilities
1. Project Planning & Supervision
- Review project designs, drawings, and specifications for civil works related to towers and solar plants.
- Plan and supervise daily site activities, ensuring adherence to project schedules and milestones.
- Coordinate with project managers, contractors, and technical teams to ensure smooth execution.
2. Tower Construction
- Oversee site preparation, excavation, and foundation construction for telecom towers (monopole, lattice, guyed masts, etc.).
- Ensure tower erection complies with design specifications, safety codes, and local regulations.
- Conduct soil testing, foundation inspections, and structural integrity checks.
3. Solar Plant Construction
- Manage civil works for solar plant sites, including ground leveling, trenching, cable laying, mounting structure installation, and drainage systems.
- Supervise the construction of inverter foundations, equipment rooms, solar support structures etc
- Ensure alignment with solar panel mounting plans and structural requirements.
4. Quality Assurance & Control
- Implement quality control procedures for materials, workmanship, and finished structures.
- Conduct regular site inspections and tests (concrete slump, compaction, reinforcement checks).
- Prepare and maintain quality records, inspection reports, and as-built drawings.
5. Health, Safety & Environment (EHS)
- Enforce strict compliance with Huawei EHS policies, local safety regulations, and industry best practices.
- Conduct safety briefings, risk assessments, and toolbox talks with site teams.
- Ensure environmental protection measures are followed (erosion control, waste management).
6. Stakeholder Coordination
- Liaise with local authorities, clients, and community representatives as needed.
- Manage relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and laborers.
- Resolve on-site technical issues and provide real-time solutions.
7. Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain daily site logs, progress reports, and photographic documentation.
- Track material usage, equipment deployment, and manpower productivity.
- Report project progress, challenges, and resolutions to the Project Manager.
Other Requirements
Education: Bachelor's degree or higher
Work Experience: 2 years or more at level 14 or above
Experience: Experience in site integration services, civil engineering, and other construction industry experience, proficient in civil engineering, ODN, energy, and industry site, and delivery experience.
