JOB ADVERT – Multiple Positions.
Aller Aqua Zambia Limited invites applications from suitably qualified candidates to fill the following positions. The roles will be based at the Aller Aqua Zambia Factory, in Siavonga.
1. Assistant Plumber
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist in the installation, repair, and maintenance of water supply lines, drainage systems, and gas lines.
- Support the installation of plumbing fixtures such as sinks, toilets, taps, showers, and water heaters.
- Help in detecting and repairing leaks, blockages, and pipe damages.
- Carry tools, materials, and equipment to job sites.
- Clean and prepare work areas before and after tasks.
- Assist in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings.
- Ensure proper use and care of plumbing tools and equipment.
- Follow health and safety regulations at all times.
- Report major faults and maintenance needs to the supervisor.
- Perform other maintenance-related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATION, SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES:
Full Grade Twelve School Certificate (GCE)
Certificate in Plumbing or related trade (added advantage).
1–2 years’ experience in plumbing or construction.
Basic knowledge of plumbing systems and tools.
Ability to work under supervision.
Physically fit and able to lift heavy materials.
Good teamwork and communication skills.
2. Diesel Mechanic/ Mechanical Filter
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Diagnose faults and repair diesel engines, trucks, generators, and heavy machinery.
- Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, filter replacements, and lubrication.
- Overhaul engines, transmissions, and hydraulic systems.
- Inspect mechanical components to identify wear, damage, or potential failures.
- Dismantle and reassemble engines and mechanical parts.
- Conduct preventive maintenance according to maintenance schedules.
- Use diagnostic tools and equipment to troubleshoot mechanical issues.
- Maintain accurate service and repair records.
QUALIFICATION, SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES:
Grade 12 Certificate.
Craft Certificate / Diploma in Diesel Mechanics, Heavy Equipment Repair, or Mechanical Engineering.
Minimum 2–3 years’ experience in diesel engine repair and maintenance.
Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and drawings.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Physically fit and able to work in demanding environments.
3. Team Leader- Mechanical
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supervise and lead mechanical technicians and artisans.
- Plan, assign, and monitor daily maintenance activities.
- Ensure timely preventive and corrective maintenance of machinery and equipment.
- Diagnose complex mechanical faults and provide technical guidance.
- Oversee installation, repair, and overhaul of mechanical systems.
- Monitor equipment performance and recommend improvements.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and reports.
- Coordinate with other departments to minimize production downtime.
- Manage spare parts usage and report stock requirements.
- Train and mentor junior mechanical staff.
QUALIFICATION, SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES:
Grade 12 Certificate.
Diploma or Craft Certificate in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
Minimum 5 years’ experience in mechanical maintenance.
At least 2 years in a supervisory or team leadership role.
Strong knowledge of industrial machinery and mechanical systems.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and manuals.
Computer literacy (MS Office and maintenance systems).
