Masccor Construction and Plant Hire Limited, a subsidiary of Kalesa Logistics Limited is looking for a suitable candidate to fill the position of Mine Captain. This role is pivotal in overseeing our mining operations with precision and ensuring that both safety standards and production targets are met daily.
Core Requirements
To be considered for this role, the candidate must possess the following:
- Degree in Mining Engineering
- Current Member of the Engineering Institution of Zambia (EIZ)
- Blasting License Holder
- Valid Silicosis Certificate
- A Minimum of 5 years proven work experience in surface mining environment
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all drilling, blasting and excavation activities to meet daily tonnage targets.
- Manage and execute discipline in accordance with the company disciplinary code
- Produce daily, weekly and monthly reports covering production, safety and any other noteworthy observations.
- Ensure strict Adherence to the Mine Safety Regulations and Internal HSE policies
- Manage pit floor conditions to ensure safe and efficient machine operations
- Monitor and optimize truck turnaround times from the pit to the crusher or Stockpiles
- Supervise the grading and upkeep of haul roads to reduce tyre wear and fuel consumption
- Work closely with maintenance team to minimize downtime of excavators and haul units.
