Job Title: Cloud & IoT Presales Solutions Specialist
Mission
The Cloud & IoT Presales Solutions Specialist will drive revenue growth across MTN Zambia’s converged services portfolio, with specific focus on Cloud (Microsoft portfolio, IaaS, SaaS, Backup, DR, Security), IoT, SD-WAN and Unified Communications.
The role is responsible for technical presales engagement, solution design, commercial shaping and bid support to convert complex enterprise opportunities into sustainable revenue streams. The incumbent will act as the bridge between Account Management, Products & Solutions, Partnerships and Projects & Implementation to ensure commercially viable, technically sound and scalable solutions are presented to customers.
This role is a direct revenue enabler and is critical to accelerating MTN Zambia’s diversification strategy beyond traditional connectivity into integrated ICT and digital solutions.
Under the supervision of the Senior Manager – Enablement, below are the Key Job Responsibilities will be, but not limited to:
Core Responsibilities:
Sales Enablement & Revenue Growth
- Drive technical presales activities for Cloud, IoT, UCC and SD-WAN opportunities.
- Support Account Managers in qualifying, shaping and closing converged solutions opportunities.
- Build and maintain a healthy pipeline of qualified cloud and IoT opportunities.
- Develop solution designs aligned to customer business outcomes and MTN commercial objectives.
- Achieve revenue targets linked to converged services portfolio.
- Provide accurate pipeline visibility, forecasting and opportunity tracking.
Solution Design & Commercial Structuring
- Lead discovery workshops to identify client business challenges and transformation objectives.
- Design scalable, secure and commercially viable cloud and IoT architectures.
- Develop TCO, ROI and business case models to support executive-level engagements.
- Collaborate with Capability Partners and OEMs to co-create joint solutions.
- Support the Bid Team in preparing high-quality RFP, RFQ and proposal submissions.
- Ensure solutions are aligned to MTN Group architecture and governance frameworks.
Customer Engagement & Thought Leadership
- Conduct executive-level solution presentations and technical demonstrations.
- Deliver Proof of Concepts and use-case demonstrations where required.
- Position MTN Zambia as a trusted digital transformation partner.
- Represent MTN at industry events and vertical-specific engagements to grow visibility in cloud and IoT domains.
- Stay current with global cloud, IoT and SD-WAN trends and competitive positioning.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Products & Solutions to provide market feedback for portfolio evolution.
- Engage Partnerships team to structure OEM and hyperscaler engagements effectively.
- Support Projects & Implementation during handover to ensure seamless execution.
- Align with Billing & Activations to ensure commercial accuracy of complex solution constructs.
- Support Service & Operations teams in knowledge transfer for new solution deployments.
Governance & Risk Management
- Maintain adherence to MTN Group presales and solution governance processes.
- Ensure commercial compliance and risk mitigation in all solution designs.
- Comply with relevant MTN policies and regulatory requirements.
Candidate Requirements:
- Minimum 3-year degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or related field.
- Microsoft certifications (Azure, M365, Security) highly advantageous.
- Cloud certifications (Azure, AWS or equivalent) preferred.
- IoT or networking certifications advantageous.
Experience
- Minimum 5 years ICT experience.
- At least 5 years in Cloud, IoT, SD-WAN or enterprise ICT presales roles.
- Demonstrated experience structuring and closing complex enterprise cloud deals.
- Strong understanding of Microsoft cloud portfolio and hybrid cloud environments.
- Exposure to IoT platforms, device ecosystems and connectivity models.
- Experience working with hyperscalers, OEMs and integration partners.
- Proven consultative selling experience with enterprise clients.
- Strong commercial acumen including pricing models, recurring revenue constructs and managed services frameworks.
- Experience within telecom or managed service provider environment advantageous.
