Skills to Live Zambia is a locally registered organization affiliated with Young Africa International and is dedicated to empowering vulnerable youth with skills training for employability and entrepreneurship. Our program integrates vocational training with life skills education, digital literacy, entrepreneurship training, psychosocial support services, and talent development in art and sports. By equipping young people with these essential skills, we ensure they are work-ready, self-reliant, and able to contribute meaningfully to economic growth.
Summary
The Janitor will clean and sanitize the offices and surroundings. S/he must work with minimum supervision, have relevant professional cleaning and gardening experience and is efficient in mopping, sweeping, dusting, vacuuming and other custodial duties. S/he must be a hardworking individual able to implement a high standard of cleanliness. S/he must be able to collaborate with others, follow instructions from the supervisor and stay on task.
Responsibilities
1. Gardening duties and responsibilities
a. Plant, transplant, water, prune and weed flower beds and plant areas
b. Maintain flowers and the lawn
c. Pick up and dispose of litter
d. Ensure proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies
2. Office cleaning
a. Clean workspaces, common areas, offices and restrooms
b. Clean windows, dust and polish surfaces
c. Restock restrooms with supplies
d. Ensure office supplies are secured
3. Requirements and qualifications
a. Prior cleaning experience (added advantage)
b. A high standard of cleanliness
c. Attention to detail
d. Ability to follow instructions
e. Time management skills
4. Skills required
a. Organized and good demonstrative skills
b. Landscaping capabilities
c. Mature and responsible
