We Are Hiring a Finance & Admin Lead
Hi there! If you’ve worked in accounting or finance and you enjoy bringing order to messy numbers, figuring things out, and building systems and structure, then this role might be exactly what you’re looking for.
At Rivuuz, we help homeowners build smarter. We manage residential construction projects from start to finish, making sure our clients stay on budget, work with the right professionals, and avoid costly mistakes.
A big part of making this work is having clear, disciplined financial control across multiple projects, suppliers, and client funds.
That’s where you come in.
Come and Help Us Build Financial Clarity and Control
We’re looking for someone who can take ownership of our finance function and bring structure, visibility, and discipline to how money flows through the business.
You won’t be stepping into a perfect system.
You’ll be stepping into a real, growing business where things are messy, moving fast, and need fixing.
You’ll be the person who makes sure:
- We always know where our cash stands
- Our numbers make sense
- Our systems are clean, reliable, and trusted
What You’ll Actually Be Doing
This is not a data entry or passive reporting role.
You’ll be actively building systems, fixing gaps, and making sure financial information is accurate and useful for decision-making.
Some of your key responsibilities will include:
- Building and maintaining an 8-week rolling cashflow forecast
- Implementing Profit First using real bank accounts (not just spreadsheets tracking)
- Tracking inflows and outflows across company and project level
- Mapping and maintaining a clear view of company cashflow and obligations
- Closing monthly accounts within 10–15 days
- Preparing clear, simple financial reports and insights
- Identifying inefficiencies, risks, and financial leaks
- Improving systems between various tools like Zoho Books, and Google Sheets
- Supporting the team with financial clarity for better decisions
What Success Looks Like in Your First 30 Days
This role is execution-focused.
In your first month, you will be expected to:
- Build a working cashflow forecast
- Set up and start running Profit First system properly
- Clearly map out our financial position (cash, debt, obligations)
- Bring visibility where there is currently uncertainty
The Kind of Person We’re Looking For
You’ve probably worked as an accountant or in a finance role where you’ve had to think beyond data entry. You understand how numbers flow through a business and you’re comfortable figuring things out when information is incomplete.
You don’t wait to be told what to do. You take ownership, ask questions, and push things forward. You are structured in how you think and work. Even when things are messy, you create clarity. You care about accuracy. You follow through. You don’t ignore things that don’t make sense.
You are honest. This role handles sensitive financial information, so integrity is non-negotiable.
You are also comfortable using tools like Excel or Google Sheets and willing to learn new systems.
You’re also tech-friendly. You don’t need to be a wizard, but you should be comfortable using your phone and tools like Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets to capture costs, generate reports and analyse data
In addition to being organised, you must follow systems and processes. Just to show that you are detail-oriented and can follow instructions, when you apply for this position, you must start your answer to the Why Rivuuz? question in the application form with this sentence: “I’ve read what it’s like to work at Rivuuz and here’s why I’m excited to apply....”. Yes, this is how we filter out people who apply randomly from those who read the application and genuinely want to join us.
Who This Role Is NOT For
This role will not suit you if:
- You are primarily a data-entry accountant
- You need perfect systems to perform your job well
- You prefer structure or being told exactly rather than figuring it out
- You get frustrated by messy or incomplete information
The Must-haves for this Role
- Strong understanding of accounting principles
- Experience working with financial data (2–4 years preferred)
- Ability to work with and organise incomplete or messy records
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills
- High integrity and accountability
- Comfortable with Excel or Google Sheets
- Experience using Zoho Books is a plus not not a must
What It’s Like Working at Rivuuz
We’re a small, fast-moving startup with big goals.
We are building systems while running live projects, which means things can feel intense and imperfect at times.
We work with urgency. We solve problems quickly. We improve constantly.
You won’t be sitting in a quiet finance department waiting for clean data.
You’ll be in the middle of a real business, helping shape how it runs.
Your work will directly impact:
- Cashflow stability
- Decision-making
- The overall health of the company
We care deeply about doing things properly and building a business that lasts.
