The Zambian Government through the Ministry of Green Economy and Environment (MGEE) developed a project called Climate Change Adaptation in Forest and Agricultural Mosaic Landscapes” supported by the Global Environment Facility (GEF). The Project is being implemented by the Food and Agricultural organization (FAO) of the United Nations (UN) as a GEF agency and World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) as an executing entity. The Project is being implemented in two Provinces namely; Eastern and Western Provinces.
The WWF is one of the largest and most well-known international conservation organizations in the world. It was founded in 1961 and headquartered in Gland, Switzerland. WWF's mission is to conserve nature and reduce the most pressing threats to the diversity of life on Earth. WWF works in collaboration with governments, businesses, local communities, and other organizations to address issues such as climate change, deforestation, habitat destruction, overfishing, and illegal wildlife trade. In addition to conservation efforts, WWF conducts scientific research, provides technical expertise, and collaborates with communities to develop sustainable livelihoods. They also engage in public outreach and education programs to raise awareness about environmental issues and promote individual action. Overall, WWF's work is guided by the belief that people and nature can thrive together, and they strive to find solutions that benefit both. They operate in more than 100 countries and have a network of offices and projects around the world.
The GEF is an international financial institution that provides grants for projects that address global environmental issues. GEF was established in 1991 as a partnership between various United Nations agencies, international financial institutions, and governments. GEF operates as a financial mechanism for several international environmental conventions, including the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD), and the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD).The primary objective of the GEF is to support projects that promote the conservation of biodiversity, the sustainable management of forests, the mitigation of climate change, the protection of international waters, and the prevention of land degradation.
Generally, the supplied items shall be of durable material manufactured according to the ISO standard system or systems of similar or stronger requirements.
Wherever reference is made in the Technical Specifications to specific standards and codes to be met by the goods and materials to be furnished or tested, the provisions of the latest current edition or revision of the relevant standards or codes in effect shall apply, unless otherwise expressly stated in the Specifications. Where such standards and codes are national or related to a particular country or region, other authoritative standards that ensure substantial equivalence to the standards and codes specified will be acceptable. Indications of physical sizes and measurements shall be considered as minimum sizes, unless otherwise specified.
The Contractor shall ensure that the specifications and all documentation relating to procurement and installation of goods for the programme are prepared on an impartial basis so as to promote competitive tendering.

Instructions to bidding suppliers:
- Language for RFQ: English
- All prices should be quoted in: ZMW
- Suppliers should attach the following documents
- PACRA Certificate of Registration
- Valid ZRA Tax Clearance Certificate
- Valid NAPSA compliance certificate
- Valid Compliance certification with Workers Compensation for 2026
- Valid trading license (s)
- Proposed methodology and approach in the provision of required services.
- Expreience in drilling assignments completed in Western Province of Zambia will be an added advantage
- Provide 3 written client references
- WARMA Certification
- Personel Qualification – Degree holder in Hydro geology or its equivalent
- EIZ Certificate for the registered firm as well as valid membership for the lead engineers
- NCC certificate for the registered firm
Bids will be rejected under the following:
- Incomplete submission;
- Not meeting required specifications; and
- Request for bids received after closing date
Payment terms: 40% upon signing of contract for mobilization and material acquisition
Evaluation criteria:
Bids shall be evaluated to determine thebest value and most technically accepted offer that meets WWF Zambia’s delivery schedule requirements:
- Completeness of submission and Compliance with specification/ technical requirements
- Estimated time of delivery;
Purchaser’s Right to Vary Requirements at Time of Award:
WWF Zambia reserves the right at the time of making the award of contract to increase or decrease the quantity of goods specified in the Request for Quotation without any change in unit price or other terms and conditions. Additionally, WWF Zambia reserves the right to issue multiple contracts for the supply and delivery of the required services.
