Job Title: Operations Officer
*Location: Lusaka, ZAMBIA.
About the Role
We are looking for a hands-on Operations Officer to oversee our outbound and dispatch operations. You’ll be responsible for making sure orders move from our warehouse to customers quickly, accurately, and cost-effectively. If you’re organised, proactive, and thrive in fast-paced environments, this role is for you.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage Outbound & Dispatch Team: Lead, schedule, and supervise the dispatch team to meet daily targets and maintain high service standards.
- Follow-ups & Coordination: Conduct regular follow-ups with riders, Agents, and customers to resolve issues and ensure smooth deliveries of parcels
- Stock Management: Monitor stock levels, coordinate with warehouse/store teams, and ensure accurate inventory records to prevent stockouts and overstock.
- Route Planning: Plan and optimise delivery routes daily to reduce transit time, costs, and delays.
- Rider/Transport Management: Assign jobs to riders and enforce compliance with company policies.
- Timely Delivery: Take ownership of on-time delivery KPIs. Identify bottlenecks and implement corrective actions fast.
- Reporting: Maintain daily logs and provide reports on dispatches, deliveries and delays.
Requirements
- Diploma/Degree in Logistics, Purchasing and Supply, Business Administration, or related field.
- 1-2 years’ experience in operations, preferably someone with a background in courier/delivery service.
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Working knowledge of Google Sheets/Excel for tracking and reporting.
- Good communication skills and ability to manage a team under pressure.
