We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Machinist to join our production team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating and maintaining manual machining equipment to produce high-quality precision components in accordance with engineering specifications and company standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate manual lathes, milling machines, grinders, and other workshop equipment.
- Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical documentation accurately.
- Manufacture, assemble, and finish metal components to precise tolerances.
- Conduct quality checks using precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, gauges).
- Perform routine maintenance and ensure machines are kept in optimal working condition.
- Work with a variety of materials including steel, aluminium, and brass.
- Collaborate with colleagues and supervisors to meet production targets and deadlines.
- Commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement.
Candidate Requirements
- Certificate/Diploma in Machining or Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in industrial machining work.
- Valid membership with the Engineering Institution of Zambia (EIZ).
- Proven experience in a machining role, with strong knowledge of manual machining processes.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
