VACANCY: ASSISTANT ACCOUNTANT
Location: Kafue National Park

About African Parks
African Parks is a non-profit conservation organization that manages national parks in partnership with governments and local communities. We currently manage 24 protected areas across 13 African countries, including Zambia.
Purpose of the Role
The Assistant Accountant will support the Finance Department by processing financial transactions, maintaining accurate financial records, preparing reconciliations, and ensuring compliance with organizational policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Capture financial transactions accurately in Serenic.
- Maintain and circulate the Invoice Tracker and follow up on outstanding invoices.
- Prepare and update work and salary advances schedules.
- Reconcile petty cash daily and prepare monthly cash count reports.
- Prepare monthly statutory reconciliations (PAYE, NAPSA, NHIMA, etc.).
- Organize and maintain finance records and supporting documents.
- Ensure compliance with finance policies and internal controls.
- Perform any other duties assigned by Management.
Qualifications and Experience
- Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Professional qualification (ZICA, ACCA, CIMA, CA Zambia, or equivalent) is an added advantage.
- At least 2 years' experience in an accounting or finance role.
- Proficiency in Serenic, Microsoft Excel, and other accounting systems.
