Breyta Engineering is seeking an experienced Operations & Engineering Projects Manager to lead day-to-day operations and the delivery of engineering projects from initial scope through to client handover.
The role has two connected areas of responsibility: ensuring that daily operations run effectively and ensuring that engineering projects achieve their technical, quality, schedule and financial requirements. You will lead teams, coordinate resources and suppliers, and maintain clear accountability for safe and reliable delivery.
Key responsibilities
Operations management
Plan daily and weekly workloads and allocate people, equipment and materials across operational work and projects.
Lead supervisors and delivery teams, monitor productivity and resolve resource constraints.
Coordinate procurement, logistics and equipment availability to support delivery commitments.
Improve operating procedures, team capability and operational efficiency.
Engineering and project delivery
Manage engineering projects from scope definition, estimating and technical planning through execution, testing and handover.
Ensure engineering solutions, drawings, specifications and work methods receive appropriate technical review and approval.
Control project schedules, budgets, risks and changes, taking corrective action when delivery falls behind plan.
Coordinate engineers, site teams, suppliers and subcontractors against agreed project requirements.
Maintain technical quality, resolve delivery challenges and ensure complete project documentation and client acceptance.
Across both areas, you will maintain health, safety, environmental and quality standards, manage client communication and report operational and financial performance to company leadership.
Qualifications and experience
A Degree in Mechanical/Electrical/Civil Engineering , or the equivalent relevant to Breyta's Engineering’s services
A project management qualification and experience in Complex Mechanical & Civil Engineering projects would be advantageous.
At least eight years of relevant engineering experience, including at least three years in a management role.
Demonstrated experience leading operational teams and delivering engineering projects from planning to completion.
Sound knowledge of technical review, project planning, budgeting, cost control and resource management.
Experience managing suppliers, subcontractors and client requirements.
Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Proficiency in CAD software, spreadsheets and relevant planning, reporting and engineering tools.
Fully Paid EIZ certification R.Eng required for the duties of the role.
