Job Purpose
The Security Driver is responsible for safely transporting security personnel, clients, and equipment during security operations, including close protection, cash-in-transit, and patrol duties. The role requires vigilance, discipline, and adherence to security protocols to ensure the safety of all passengers and assets.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely drive and transport armed and unarmed security personnel to client sites, patrol routes, and operational assignments.
- Provide secure transportation for clients, including VIPs, during close protection operations.
- Support cash-in-transit and valuable asset escort operations when assigned.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure operational readiness.
- Maintain cleanliness, service, and good condition of assigned vehicles.
- Monitor traffic conditions and plan safe, efficient routes for security operations.
- Maintain accurate trip logs, fuel records, and incident reports.
- Report vehicle faults, security incidents, or accidents immediately to the Fleet Supervisor or Operations Manager.
- Ensure compliance with all traffic laws and company security procedures.
- Remain vigilant and observant at all times, anticipating and responding to potential security threats.
Qualifications and Skills
- Valid Zambian driver’s license (Class C or higher).
- Minimum Grade 12 certificate.
- Minimum 3 years’ driving experience, preferably in security or disciplined services.
- Knowledge of defensive driving and convoy driving techniques.
- Physically fit, alert, and able to handle stressful situations.
- Clear criminal record and good references.
- Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance and emergency procedures.
- Strong integrity, reliability, and confidentiality.
- Must own a mobile phone for communication during operations.
