This is a structured programme offering hands-on training and mentoring in a supportive team environment. The Trainee will rotate through key operational areas, supported by experienced mentors and performance reviews.
Trainees successfully completing the programme will be prepared for an appointment into a substantive role.
1) TRAINEE - TRUCK REFRIGERATION (x2)
2) TRAINEE - REFRIGERATION AND AIR CONDITIONING (x1)
The required knowledge for this role includes:
- Familiarity with refrigeration systems and their practical applications,
- Basic understanding of cold chain logistics and cold storage handling,
- Knowledge of maintenance and repair of cold rooms, chillers, display units, and transport refrigeration systems,
- Knowledge of oxyacetylene brazing techniques,
- Troubleshooting,
- Awareness of general workplace safety and basic first aid procedures.
The required qualifications are:
- A full grade 12 Certificate.
- Diploma or Crafts Certificate in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning. Note, should have graduated not more than 3 years ago.
- Working experience of at least 1 year is an added advantage.
- Strong knowledge of maintenance, repair processes, and refrigerants.
- Member of EIZ.
3) TRAINEE – AUTO MECHANIC (x3)
The required knowledge for this role includes:
- Understanding of vehicle systems, including engines, transmissions, brakes, and suspensions,
- Familiarity with routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, filter replacements, and tyre rotations,
- Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical faults in various vehicle components,
- Basic knowledge of hand tools, power tools, and workshop equipment,
- Strong troubleshooting mindset and a practical approach to problem-solving,
- Awareness of workshop safety protocols and basic first aid procedures.
The required qualifications are:
- A full grade 12 Certificate.
- Diploma or Crafts Certificate in Auto-Mechanical engineering. Note, should have graduated not more than 3 years ago.
- Working experience of at least 1 year is an added advantage.
- Strong knowledge of maintenance and repair processes.
- A Valid Driver’s license will be an added advantage.
- Member of EIZ.
4) TRAINEE – AUTO ELECTRIC (x3)
The required knowledge for this role includes:
- Understanding of vehicle electrical systems, including wiring, batteries, and alternators,
- Familiarity with lighting systems, sensors, and electronic control units (ECUs),
- Ability to diagnose and repair faults in starter motors, ignition systems, and dashboard electronics,
- Basic knowledge of soldering and safe handling of electrical tools and components,
- Strong troubleshooting skills and a logical approach to problem-solving,
- Awareness of workshop safety practices and basic first aid procedures.
The required qualifications are:
- A full grade 12 Certificate.
- Diploma or Crafts Certificate in Auto-electrical engineering. Note, should have graduated not more than 3 years ago.
- Working experience of at least 1 year is an added advantage
- Strong knowledge of maintenance and repair processes.
- Member of EIZ
5) TRAINEE – ARABLE FARMING (x3)
The required knowledge for this role includes:
- Familiarity with crop production cycles and field operations,
- Basic understanding of soil preparation, planting, irrigation, and harvesting techniques,
- Knowledge of pest and disease control methods,
- Knowledge of sustainable farming practices and environmental conscientiousness,
- Basic understanding of farm machinery operation and routine maintenance will be an added advantage.
- General workplace safety and basic first aid procedures.
The required qualifications are:
- A full grade 12 Certificate
- Degree in Agriculture, Crop Science, or related field. Note, should have graduated not more than 3 years ago.
- Working experience of at least 1 year is an added advantage.
- Strong knowledge of crop husbandry and farm equipment handling.
- Member of AIZ.
