AfLife Capital Zambia Limited (Afcap) invites suitably qualified consultants or firms to submit proposals for the establishment and operationalisation of a stockbroking business unit within Afcap, in line with the Group’s strategic business plan. The engagement will be on a short-term consultancy basis (6–12 months) and aims to ensure the firm attains full licensing, regulatory compliance, and readiness to trade on the Lusaka Securities Exchange (LuSE).
Scope of Work
The consultant will be expected to:
- Lead the regulatory and licensing process with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and LuSE, including preparation and submission of applications.
- Establish key operational linkages with banks, the Bank of Zambia, transfer secretaries, and other brokers.
- Develop business, governance, and operational frameworks, including policies, operating manuals, and compliance procedures.
- Provide guidance on systems integration (trading, back-office, and reporting) in liaison with AfLife IT.
- Support the onboarding of clients and formulation of trading strategies for equities and fixed-income instruments.
- Conduct market research and investment analysis to support revenue generation.
- Build capacity through knowledge transfer to Afcap’ s internal team.
Consultant Profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Investments, Mathematics, or Engineering.
- Professional certification such as CFA, CISI, or ZICA.
- Securities/Investment Certification from the SEC (mandatory).
- Minimum of 2–3 years’ experience in stockbroking, investment advisory, or capital markets.
- Demonstrated knowledge of LuSE and SEC regulations and experience in operationalising new financial services businesses.

- Detailed Workplan outlining timelines and deliverables.
- Curriculum Vitae (CV) with supporting qualifications and certifications.
- Financial Proposal in Zambian Kwacha (ZMW), inclusive of all taxes and expenses.
