Bem Motors is hiring an experienced Human Resource Officer to provide strategic leadership and management of the human resource function, ensuring effective implementation of HR policies, systems, and practices that support organizational goals, promote a high-performance culture, and ensure compliance with Zambian labour laws.
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the company’s vision and operational objectives.
· Oversee the full scope of HR functions including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, employee relations, and succession planning.
· Ensure compliance with employment legislation and company policies.
· To oversee the Development and implementation of HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy.
· To conduct research and provide data on wage/salary structures to ensure existing remuneration policy and procedures are in accordance with the competitive rates of pay and conditions of service offered by other organizations.
· To execute and maintain up to date manpower plans and programs through Adopting succession planning and manpower forecasting in order to maintain the required establishment levels.
· To prepare draft Human Resources Budget for submission to Manager Human Resources for incorporation in the Corporate Budget.
· To maintain accurate employee records, handling payroll-related tasks, and staying informed about employment laws are integral aspects of their role.
· Managing and resolving employee relations issues, including grievances and disciplinary actions By Leading, supporting disciplinary, and grievance procedures in accordance with labour laws and company standards.
· To execute training and development programs in order to provide the organization with required skilled and experienced workers.
· To coordinate Performance Appraisals in order to ensure enhanced performance as well as to establish training needs.
· To compile accurate and timely human resources reports for Management officials use.
· To co-ordinate health medical facilities to all employees and their dependents in order to maintain a healthy workforce.
· To conduct recruitment formalities and participate in final selection to ensure quality manpower is retained.
· To co-ordinate the induction of new employees to acquaint them on the operations of the company
· Liaise with statutory bodies to ensure Human Resources policies are in conformity with relevant labour provisions.
· Provide HR analytics and reports to management for strategic decision-making.
· Maintain effective communication and employee relations across all departments
· Ensure accurate HR data management, payroll and workforce planning.
· Foster a culture of safety, accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
Education & Experience
· Grade 12 Certificate with 5 O level credits or better including English and Mathematics
· A Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
· Full membership with the Zambia Institute of Human Resource Management (ZIHRM) is compulsory.
· Minimum of 5 years experience at Senior Human Resource Officer level
· Should have good Negotiation Skills.
· Should be conversant with Labour Laws.
· Effective problem-solving, conflict resolution, and decision-making abilities are highly valued.
· A Masters Degree will be an added advantage.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
· Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
