NATIONAL CONTROL CENTRE CONTROLLERS
Swiss Guard Security Company Ltd invites applications from suitably qualified candidates to fill the position of Controllers. The role reports to control Room Supervisor and will be based in Lusaka
1. Job Purpose
To ensure effective monitoring, coordination, and communication of all security operations through the control room systems, ensuring the safety and protection of client premises, personnel, and assets. The Controller serves as the communication and coordination hub for security operations, managing CCTV systems, alarms, and incident responses in line with Swiss Guard’s operational standards.
2. Major Duties and Responsibilities
A. Surveillance & Monitoring
· Monitor and operate all CCTV cameras and associated equipment within the Control Room.
· Operate remote call monitoring, alarm, and communication systems to support field operations.
· Receive, acknowledge, and respond to all alarms, including panic, burglary, fire, electric fence, and emergency alerts, following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
· Follow up and document any suspicious or unusual activity observed on the CCTV network.
· Maintain the security and confidentiality of all Control Room operations and facilities.
B. Incident & Alarm Response
· Report any incident immediately, following the site-specific SOPs and escalation procedures.
· Provide recorded media or video evidence only to authorized personnel.
· Ensure guard coverage and deployment are maintained at all times in coordination with supervisors and managers.
· Support emergency response coordination and dispatch of response teams where necessary.
C. Records & Reporting
· Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all incidents, alarms, and events using the incident reporting software and/or the occurrence book.
· Document and report all system faults, communication failures, or equipment malfunctions to the Supervisor immediately.
· Compile daily logs, incident summaries, and shift handover reports.
D. Systems & Equipment
· Monitor fleet management and guard deployment systems to ensure optimal operations.
· Conduct regular checks of CCTV cameras, alarm systems, monitors, radios, and related equipment to ensure full functionality.
· Report and follow up on any system malfunctions or performance issues.
E. Training & Compliance
· Participate in ongoing training and development programs to stay updated on the latest security technologies, regulations, and control room procedures.
· Comply with the adopted Code of Practice, service operational procedures, and Swiss Guard’s internal policies at all times.
· Maintain the confidentiality, integrity, and professionalism expected in all aspects of Control Room operations.
· Contribute to the continuous improvement of Control Room practices and processes.
F. Other Responsibilities
· Provide assistance in demonstrating Control Room services to management, clients, and visitors as authorized.
· Undertake any other duties that are commensurate with the role, as assigned by management.
3. Qualifications and Experience
Minimum Requirements:
· Grade 12 Certificate (O-Level).
· Degree or Diploma in Security Operations, Information Technology, or related field preferred.
· Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a control room, dispatch centre, or CCTV monitoring environment.
· Experience in banking, data centre, or high-security installations is an added advantage.

5. Working Conditions
· Shift-based work, including nights, weekends, and public holidays.
· Work performed in a high-security, technology-driven environment.
· Rotation between National Control Centre and Zanaco HQ & Data Centre as operational needs require.
· Continuous vigilance and communication with field and response teams.

7. Reporting Structure
Reports To: Control Room Supervisor / Head of Technology, Monitoring & Rapid Response.
Coordinates With: Site Supervisors, Patrol Teams, Technical Support, and Client Security Liaisons
