Location: International School of Lusaka (ISL)
Duration: 4 months – starting January 2026
Type: Internship (Part-Time )
Purpose of the Role
The Alumni Affairs Intern will support ISL’s efforts to strengthen engagement with its alumni community by cleaning, updating, and expanding the alumni database. The interns will ensure accurate data capture, organise digital records, and help connect with alumni on social media and other platforms to build a vibrant, up-to-date alumni network.
Key Responsibilities:
A. Data Cleaning & Updating
- Review and verify existing alumni data on all ISL platforms.
- Identify and remove inactive or outdated school email addresses.
- Update contact details with current personal emails, phone numbers, and locations.
- Ensure consistency and accuracy across all data fields.
B. Database Development & Management
- Support the design and setup of a user-friendly, central alumni database (e.g., using Google Sheets, Airtable, or CRM tools).
- Migrate cleaned data to the central alumni database.
- Develop standard templates for data entry, reporting, and alumni profiles.
C. Alumni Outreach & Engagement Support
- Reach out to alumni via social media (LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, etc.), email and phone to verify or collect updated contact details.
- Help map alumni career paths and notable achievements for storytelling or school communication.
- Support communication efforts. e.g., newsletters, surveys, or online alumni forms.
D. Reporting & Documentation
- Maintain clear records of updates and outreach activities.
- Generate periodic progress reports on database growth and accuracy.
Qualifications & Competencies:
- Completed IGCSE, Cambridge or IBDP
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree/diploma in Information Management, Communications, Business Administration, ICT, or related field.
- Strong computer literacy (especially Excel/Google Sheets; familiarity with CRM or data tools is an advantage).
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage data accurately.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Professional conduct when communicating with alumni.
- Experience with or enthusiasm for social media outreach and digital communication.
Expected Outcomes:
- A cleaned and verified alumni database with updated contact details.
- A functional, centralised alumni management system integrated with ISL’s communication strategy.
- A preliminary alumni directory highlighting key professional achievements.
