About the Role
We are expanding our digital capabilities and seeks a highly skilled IT professional to support our growing operations. This role requires a hands-on systems person capable of:
- Maintaining and supporting Mifos X/Fineract
- Customising front-end interfaces and improving user experience
- Designing and maintaining internal reports and dashboards
- Providing technical support to branches
- Ensuring system uptime, data integrity, and user satisfaction
This is a strategic position as we scale our operations and strengthen our technology-driven processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day technical support for Mifos users across all branches.
- Customise front-end screens, form designs, and workflows to match operational needs.
- Develop and maintain reports (Pentaho, SQL, Jasper, Business Intelligence tools).
- Manage Mifos instance settings, loan product configurations, roles, permissions, and user accounts.
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot errors, and coordinate backups.
- Work with management to improve system efficiency, automation, and data accuracy.
- Maintain documentation for system changes, user guides, and troubleshooting steps.
- Support integration with external tools (SMS gateways, mobile apps, payment systems).
- Provide IT support to staff (network, email, hardware, connectivity).
- Liaise with external Mifos/Fineract developers when advanced customisation is required.
Minimum Requirements
- Degree or Diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
- Proven experience with Mifos X / Fineract (front-end or admin level).
- Strong SQL, MariaDB skills, able to write queries and generate custom reports.
- Familiarity with HTML, CSS, JavaScript for front-end customisation.
- Experience with Windows/Linux servers and cloud environments (AWS/EC2).
- Understanding of microfinance operations, loan cycles, and client data structures.
Added Advantages
- Experience working with Pentaho, Jasper Reports, or BI tools.
- Knowledge of APIs, JSON, RESTful services.
- Ability to design dashboards or simple apps.
- Experience in Mifos upgrades, migrations, or module configuration.
- Strong troubleshooting and user-support skills.
- Ability to train staff and create user documentation.
