We are looking for a Fleet/Vehicle Scheduling Officer.
Responsibilities :
- Develop and implement daily/weekly vehicle schedules and driver rosters for import, export, and local transit operations.
- Coordinate transport arrangements based on client requests, cargo readiness, and delivery deadlines.
- Promote efficient use of vehicles and optimize routes to minimize fuel consumption and maximize productivity.
- Monitor real-time vehicle movements using GPS Tracking Systems/telematics to ensure adherence to planned routes and schedules.
- Ensure strict compliance with Zambian transport laws and regulations
- Ensure all vehicles have valid roadworthiness certificates, insurance, and licenses.
- Coordinate and schedule regular preventative maintenance and inspections to minimize vehicle downtime.
- Maintain detailed and accurate fleet records, including trip logs, fuel consumption reports, maintenance history, and driver documentation.
Requirements
- Diploma or degree in Logistics, Transport Management, or related field.
- 3-5 years’ experience in fleet operations scheduling, or transport management, preferably within the Zambian logistics.
- Familiarity with route planning or vehicle tracking software is a plus.
- Strong working knowledge of Zambian road transport legislation and compliance requirements.
- Valid Driver’s license.
- English proficiency (both written and spoken) as the working language.
