Provide legal advisory support on all company-related matters, including compliance with the Mines and Minerals Development Act and related regulations & international laws.
Draft, review, negotiate contracts, MOUs and agreements with stakeholders, contractors, and suppliers.
Oversee environmental monitoring and reporting, ensuring accurate documentation and prompt response to compliance-related incidents, accidents or complaints.
Lead regular audits, site inspections and compliance assessments to identify and correct legal violations.
Ensure corporate governance and statutory compliance with PACRA, ZRA, Ministry of Mines, ZEMA and other Zambian Agencies.
Support the HR function with labour law guidance, employment contracts, and dispute resolution.
Ensure the safe custody of legal documents like certificates, licenses, statutory records and oversee compliance-related training of staff.
Advise management on risk mitigation strategies, licensing and regulatory matters.
Liaise with external counsel, regulators and government agencies where required.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of regulatory changes, revising company policies as needed to remain compliant
Support due diligence, JV structures and investment-related legal processes.
Strong analytical, reporting, negotiation, advisory and communication abilities, especially for technical and legal subjects.
Ability to work independently and proactively in a fast-paced mining environment.
Remuneration will be based on the candidate’s experience and competency as per requirements in the JD.
