Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced and highly skilled Website Developer to design, develop, maintain, and optimize modern websites and web applications. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise, an eye for detail, and the ability to translate business requirements into functional digital solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain responsive and high-performance websites and web applications
- Translate client and internal requirements into clean, scalable, and efficient code
- Optimize websites for speed, performance, SEO, and cross-browser compatibility
- Integrate third-party APIs, payment gateways, booking systems, and CMS platforms
- Perform regular website updates, security checks, and backups
- Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve technical issues promptly
- Ensure best practices in web security, data protection, and user experience
- Provide technical guidance and documentation for completed projects
Requirements & Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Website Developer (5+ years preferred)
- Strong proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript
- Experience with frameworks/libraries such as React, Vue, or Angular is an advantage
- Solid experience with PHP, Python, or Node.js
- Strong knowledge of WordPress (custom themes, plugins, and optimization)
- Experience with databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or MongoDB
- Familiarity with hosting environments, cPanel, VPS, and cloud platforms
- Understanding of SEO best practices, website performance optimization, and accessibility
- Experience with version control systems such as Git
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
Added Advantages
- Experience in UI/UX design principles
- Knowledge of e-commerce platforms and online booking systems
- Familiarity with mobile-first and progressive web applications (PWA)
- Experience working with African or Zambian-based clients
