Job Purpose

Superior Milling Company Limited invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced candidates for the position of Quality Assurance (QA) Officer. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing and maintaining effective quality and food safety systems within the milling plant to ensure compliance with internal standards, Zambian regulatory requirements, and internationally recognized food safety principles.

The role supports the company’s progressive alignment with ISO 22000and HACCP frameworks, while ensuring all maize milling products (maize meal, germ meal, and bran) are consistently safe, compliant, and fit for human consumption in line with Zambian Bureau of Standards (ZABS) requirements and applicable food safety legislation.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

· Implement and maintain HACCP-based quality and food safety controls across milling operations

· Conduct raw material quality inspections and monitor supplier compliance

· Monitor in-process controls and finished product quality to ensure conformance with specifications

· Enforce compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and Good Hygiene Practices (GHPs)

· Participate in internal audits, inspections, and regulatory visits by relevant authorities

· Investigate non-conformances and implement corrective and preventive actions

· Prepare quality, food safety, and compliance reports for management review

· Conduct routine quality and food safety training and awareness sessions for plant personnel

Minimum Qualifications and Experience

· Grade Twelve (12) School Certificate with full examination pass

· Diploma or Degree in Food Science, Quality Management, Milling Technology, Agriculture, Chemistry, or a related field

· Academic qualifications must be validated by the Zambia Qualifications Authority (ZAQA)

· Minimum of three (3) years’ practical experience in a food processing, milling, or grain handling environment

· Working knowledge of HACCP principles, GMPs, GHPs, and Zambian food safety regulations

· Experience in maize milling or cereal processing will be an added advantage
