As part of our continued expansion, PG Meats seeks to recruit for the following position:
1 - Accounts Officer (2)
The Accounts Officer will support our finance operations.
The ideal candidate must have hands-on accounting experience and a solid background working in the meat production, food processing, or manufacturing industry.
ROLE OVERVIEW
The Accounts Officer will play a key role in daily financial operations, including accounting, reporting, cost tracking, and compliance. This position requires strong accounting skills and the ability to support senior management with reliable financial information to enhance operational efficiency and profitability.
KEY RESULT AREAS
1. Financial Accounting & Reporting
- Record, verify, and update all financial transactions in line with accounting standards.
- Prepare monthly management accounts, reconciliations, and financial reports.
- Maintain the general ledger and ensure accurate cost allocations.
- Reconcile bank accounts, supplier statements, and internal control accounts.
- Prepare documentation and analysis for audits.
2. Costing & Inventory Management
- Track and analyze production costs, yields, wastage, and variances.
- Maintain accurate inventory records for raw materials, carcasses, and finished products.
- Support the operations team with cost-related data to drive efficiency and reduce losses.
3. Payables, Receivables & Cash Management
- Process supplier invoices, staff claims, and payments.
- Manage customer invoices, receipts, and credit control.
- Support cash flow monitoring and ensure timely settlement of financial obligations.
- Conduct daily cash book reviews and bank reconciliations.
4. Compliance & Statutory Obligations
- Assist with the preparation and submission of statutory returns: VAT, PAYE, NAPSA, NHIMA, and Workers’ Compensation.
- Ensure all financial practices adhere to regulatory and internal compliance standards.
- Maintain accurate and updated financial records for audit readiness.
5. Budgeting & Financial Planning Support
- Support the finance team with preparation of annual budgets, forecasts, and expenditure reports.
- Monitor budget performance and help identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Prepare variance reports and highlight key financial insights.
6. Internal Controls & Risk Management
- Enforce financial control procedures and assist in strengthening internal control systems.
- Identify discrepancies, risks, or anomalies and propose corrective actions.
- Uphold financial integrity and ensure proper documentation of all transactions.
7. Operational Support
- Liaise with production, procurement, and sales departments to support data-driven decision-making.
- Provide timely financial information to management as required.
- Participate in improving accounting processes and automation tools.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Grade 12 School Certificate.
- Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Professional qualification (ZICA Licentiate, Part ACCA/CIMA) is an added advantage.
- 3–5 years of accounting or finance experience, preferably in:
- Meat production
- Food processing
- Manufacturing or FMCG environment
- Experience with accounting software and strong Excel proficiency.

2 - HR Intern (1)
Report Line: The post holder will have a direct reporting line to the Human Resource Manager.
Job Brief
We are seeking an enthusiastic HR Intern to join our team and provide invaluable support to our HR department. The role will involve performing a variety of administrative tasks, including updating employee records and assisting with various HR-related activities.
Key Responsibilities
· Managing employee personnel files
· Support with scheduling interviews
· Assist with onboarding and orientation programs
· Manage other administrative tasks as they arise
Requirements
· Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in HR Management or similar field.
· Ability to maintain confidentiality of data and act with integrity.
· Have a basic understanding of labor laws and be diligent about responsibilities
· Excellent interpersonal skills and organizational skills.
· Attention to detail and ability to mult-task effectively
· Basic computer skills and ability to handle administrative tasks.
· Work in a fast-paced environment.
