Mission
To accelerate the growth of MTN MoMo Zambia’s fintech ecosystem by spearheading strategic partnerships, strengthening platform capabilities, and delivering bespoke payment solutions for key accounts. The role will champion enterprise‑wide adoption of the Open API platform and be accountable for driving revenue growth across unique payers, merchants, transaction values, and transaction volumes.
Core Responsibilities:
• Oversees and directs the deployment of tested solutions, ensuring full compliance with Change Management requirements and securing CAB approvals;
• Ensures timely post‑implementation validation and sign‑off, and drives structured handover of all delivered solutions to Operations;
• Proactively identifies, manages, and mitigates risks and issues related to partner support, ensuring timely escalation and resolution;
• Provides accurate, timely, and executive‑level reporting on partner support status, including progress on key milestones and deliverables;
• Ensures proper governance and quality of all documentation, including meeting minutes, action items, and delivery artifacts for active partner demands;
• Leads post‑support and post‑delivery reviews to extract lessons learned and drives continuous improvement initiatives across partner support and demand processes;
• Ensures full adherence to MTN Mobile Money Demand Management, Change Management, and IT Security Policy requirements across the function;
• Plans, secures, and optimises resources required for efficient partner support and demand delivery, ensuring adequate capacity and capability;
• Leads alignment between business teams and vendor project teams, ensuring clarity of scope, strong collaboration, and timely, high‑quality execution;
• Owns and manages the end‑to‑end Demand/PMO process, ensuring governance, prioritisation, tracking, and delivery of all partner and business demands;
• Stays abreast of industry trends and best practices in API management, digital platforms, and fintech partner support to enhance delivery effectiveness and innovation;
• Develop and execute strategic partnerships that unlock new use cases and expand the fintech ecosystem;
• Drive increased adoption and integration of the Open API platform across enterprise and SME segments;
• Lead end‑to‑end product delivery including ideation, solutioning, development coordination, go‑to‑market execution, and post‑launch optimization;
• Define and manage product roadmaps aligned to business objectives and customer needs;
• Customize group‑provided product design in line with OpCo‑specific local nuances and secure sign‑off from higher management;
• Collaborate with engineering, marketing, and commercial teams to ensure timely and successful product launches;
• Monitor product performance, user engagement, and transaction metrics to inform continuous improvement;
• Provide regular performance reports (daily, weekly, monthly) on product performance and pipeline execution for senior management decision‑making;
• Design and deliver tailored payment solutions for high‑value and strategic accounts;
• Formulate and document Standard Operating Procedures for key products and services developed;
• Own the commercial performance of the platforms segment, ensuring delivery of revenue targets and growth in transaction metrics;
• Support the execution of the Payments Strategy and contribute to long‑term platform innovation and scalability;
Candidate Requirements:
• Grade twelve (12) Certificate with 5 credits or better including English and Mathematics:
• Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, IT, or a related field;
• MBA or equivalent postgraduate qualification is an added advantage;
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in fintech, digital payments, platform strategy, or ecosystem development;
• Proven success in partnership development, product delivery, and platform commercialization;
• Strong understanding of API platforms, digital ecosystems, and payment infrastructure;
• Experience in developing bespoke solutions for enterprise clients;
• Strong analytical, commercial, and stakeholder engagement capabilities;
• Ability to lead cross-functional projects and deliver measurable business outcomes;
Core Competencies:
Demonstrated expertise in fintech product delivery and lifecycle management, with a proven ability to build and sustain strategic partnerships. Strong understanding of API platforms and digital ecosystems, enabling effective product development, integration, and ecosystem growth.
