Optimises on-site resources at an operational level. Always ensures compliance with safety and quality assurance standards. Monitors and controls production costs and optimises site productivity. Co-ordinates regular on-site meetings and maintains good lines of communications with all relevant parties. Develops and mentors construction staff and assists the Quantity Surveyor regularly with subcontractor output measurements, wages paid and plant and material requisitions.
Primary Qualifications
ü Grade twelve certificate
ü Diploma or Craft Certificate in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Bricklaying, or relevant trade
ü At least 7 years’ experience in construction
ü Experience leading small teams, allocating tasks, and mentoring personnel
ü Able to interpret construction drawings
ü Safety conscious and enforcements
ü Understanding of materials, construction methods, tools, and basic surveying
ü Able to report records of work progress, labour hours, materials used and site incidents
ü Valid membership with EIZ
