Position Summary
The Finance Manager / Head of Finance will be a key member of the executive leadership team, responsible for financial strategy, planning, compliance, cost control, and profitability optimization. This role requires strong experience in manufacturing, inventory management, and financial governance.
This position reports directly to the CEO.
Key Responsibilities
🔹 Strategic Financial Leadership
- Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with company growth plans
- Provide financial insights to support executive decision-making
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning
- Support expansion into export markets and new product lines
🔹 Manufacturing & Cost Control
- Oversee production costing and margin analysis
- Monitor raw material cost trends and advise on pricing strategies
- Implement cost-control systems to improve profitability
- Strengthen inventory valuation and stock control systems
🔹 Financial Management & Reporting
- Prepare accurate monthly management accounts and board reports
- Manage cash flow forecasting and working capital optimization
- Oversee payroll, accounts payable, and receivables
- Ensure accurate financial reporting in compliance with IFRS
🔹 Compliance & Governance
- Ensure full compliance with ZRA, NAPSA, NHIMA, and all statutory obligations
- Manage external audits and internal controls
- Establish and enforce strong financial policies and procedures
- Mitigate financial risks and strengthen internal governance
🔹 Systems & Process Improvement
- Improve financial reporting systems and automation
- Optimize accounting software usage
- Build scalable financial structures to support company growth
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Fully qualified ACCA, CIMA, or ZICA (mandatory)
- Minimum 5–8 years progressive experience, with at least 3 years in a senior finance role
- Strong experience in manufacturing or FMCG sector
- In-depth knowledge of Zambian tax regulations and statutory compliance
- Experience with ERP/accounting systems (Sage, Pastel, QuickBooks, or similar)
