WE’RE HIRING: MACHINIST / OPERATOR

Vaimar Farms Limited is a commercial poultry and egg production business. To support our internal feed production infrastructure and ensure consistent nutrition for our poultry stock, we are seeking a results-oriented Machinist / Operator to take full charge of our soya cake extruder and oil expeller plant.
Key Responsibilities
- Machine Operation: Safely and efficiently operate a soya extruder and an oil expeller machine
- Setup & Calibration: Perform precise machine setup, mechanical adjustments, and configuration calibration to maximize oil extraction rates and protein cake quality.
- Preventative Maintenance: Carry out routine servicing, proactive inspection, and targeted mechanical maintenance to minimize processing plant downtime.
- Early Fault Detection: Monitor machinery during operation to hear, see, or feel mechanical deviations; troubleshoot and diagnose faults early before major breakdowns occur.
- Material Efficiency: Monitor feed processing parameters to reduce material spillage, optimize product recovery, and maintain high standards of housekeeping around the plant.
Requirements
- Education: Certificate or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or any related mechanical trade qualification.
- School Certificate: Full Grade 12 School Certificate.
- Technical Experience: Minimum of 2 to 5 years of verified, hands-on experience specifically operating and maintaining an industrial oil expeller and a soya bean extruder.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in the use of mechanical precision tools, alignment of motors, troubleshooting internal gearbox components, and reading machinery manuals.
