Position Overview
The Business Development Manager drives growth, revenue, and strategic partnerships across Uspire’s business units. The role ensures the alignment of sales and marketing efforts with the company’s long-term strategic objectives.
Reporting Structure
- Reports to: Chief Executive Officer
- Supervises: Assistant Business Development Manager, B2B Executive, B2C Executive, and Business Support Executive (as relevant to BD activities)
Key Responsibilities
- Lead business growth initiatives and identify new opportunities across service lines.
- Develop and execute sales, marketing, and client acquisition strategies.
- Build and maintain relationships with key clients and institutional partners.
- Supervise business development teams to achieve set targets and KPIs.
- Lead proposal development, bids, and presentations to clients.
- Monitor market trends and competitor activities to inform strategy.
- Promote Uspire’s brand visibility through digital and offline channels.
- Coordinate with Finance, Consulting, and Publishing units for integrated service delivery.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- At least 7 years’ experience in business development, consulting, or sales leadership.
- Member of the Zambia Institute of Marketing (ZIM)
- Proven ability to meet and exceed revenue and client growth targets.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
